First comes the searing pain that leaves you curled up in a ball on the floor. Pain, so intense your eyes won’t focus, all you see is white hot light flashing in your brain. Your hearing is muffled, yet intensified at the same time. Every sound is like the banshees shriek come to herald your death. How you wish you could give in, and let her take you to that dark, quiet place.
Then comes wave after wave of nausea, and you count yourself lucky if you don’t empty your stomach over and over again. The tears caused by the assault serve only to redouble the pain as you struggle to steady your breathing. And in that micro-second when you sense the minute hope of relief, your heart beats and it begins again.
